The Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 is heading our way in early September, 2026

As the iconic Royal Enfield Himalayan celebrates its 10th anniversary, we have some good news for ADV fans. Royal Enfield is planning to relaunch the Himalayan but with a new heart. According to our sources the Himalayan will be brought back in a 440 cc avatar and will go on sale in early September, 2026. The Himalayan was the first indigenously designed and engineered ADV bike from an Indian brand and laid the foundations for the booming ADV segment back in 2016.

The main reason for getting back the original Himalayan back is the price gap in Royal Enfield’s current portfolio. The Scram 440 remains the entry-level bike at ₹2.25 lakh but the Himalayan 450 on the other end of the spectrum carries a starting price of ₹3.08 lakh (all prices mentioned are ex-showroom). Royal Enfield senses that there is an opportunity for the Himalayan 440 to bridge this price gap. We expect the Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 pricing to be around ₹2.50-2.60 lakh (ex-showroom).

The new bike will feature a 443 cc, single-cylinder motor as seen on the Scram 440 delivering 25 bhp and 34 Nm of torque. This new powerplant will not only improve the performance of the bike but more importantly the added 6th gear will improve the touring capability of the ADV motorcycle, which was a big issue on its predecessor. Apart from that no big changes are expected on the Himalayan 440 as cosmetically it will be similar to the Himalayan 411 with an industrial and purposeful appearance. Even the underpinnings will remain untouched, which means the bike will run on 21/17-inch spoke wheels, telescopic fork and monoshock suspension combo and disc brakes with dual-channel ABS.
