Ola Electric has unveiled its indigenous LFP-powered Shakti energy storage portfolio, covering residential, commercial, and utility-scale grid applications.
Ola Electric has launched its new Shakti Rack and Mahashakti energy storage portfolio in India. Built around indigenously developed Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery cells manufactured at its Krishnagiri Gigafactory in Tamil Nadu, the ecosystem covers energy management solutions across three distinct segments: residential backup, commercial establishments, and utility-scale industrial grids.
The company aims to leverage its vertically integrated cell-to-system setup to offer scalable, safe, and cost-effective renewable energy storage solutions without incurring significant incremental capital expenditure.
The residential market is addressed through the Shakti Gen2 series, designed for complete home power backup and solar integration. Available in 4.6 kWh and 9.2 kWh capacities, the systems offer around 1.5 hours of full-load backup and incorporate integrated MPPT technology for solar charge management.
Ola has set introductory pricing at ₹99,999 for the 4.6 kWh variant and ₹1,74,999 for the 9.2 kWh model, with customer pre-reservations open at ₹999 ahead of scheduled deliveries starting in November 2026. Additionally, a standalone MPPT Solar Charge Controller will be offered for existing solar setups.

For commercial, industrial, and telecom infrastructure, the automaker introduced the modular Shakti AC and DC Rack systems. The AC Rack features a 73 kWh capacity with an integrated three-phase inverter for facility backup and peak shaving, while the air-cooled DC Rack provides 38 to 77 kWh per rack for telecom towers and critical DC infrastructure. At the highest scale, the Mahashakti platform targets industrial sites and large power grids. This includes the liquid-cooled 257 kWh Mahashakti Rack and the massive 6.26 MWh utility-scale container system designed for grid support and renewable energy integration.
Both the commercial Shakti Racks and the industrial Mahashakti solutions are slated for commercial release in March 2027. To demonstrate utility-scale capability, Ola Electric has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Axis Energy to potentially deploy up to 20 GWh of battery storage systems by 2032.
