Deliveries for Ola's debut electric bike is expected to commence soon.
Ola’s debut electric bike, the Roadster X has officially started to roll off the manufacturing line. The news was officially shared by the brand’s CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal on X, post which he also took out the production-spec bike for a short spin. This also signals that the Ola Roadster X might start reaching showrooms in a short while, post which its deliveries should also commence thereafter.
The Ola Roadster X will be available in three variants differentiated by three battery packs – 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh. Each of which are good for 140 km, 196 km, and 252 km of range, respectively, The entry-level variant has a claimed top speed of 105 kmph, while the mid and top variants can reach up to 118 kmph.
Bookings had already commenced earlier at a minimal amount of just ₹999. The Ola Roadster X starts from ₹84,999 with the smallest battery pack, and tops out at ₹1,04,999 (ex-showroom) with the bigger pack. The top trim Roadster Pro will debut with the largest battery pack in the electric motorcycle segment in India at 16 kWh which will have a certified range of 579 km, and a top speed of 194 kmph, thus surpassing the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 from every aspect. But we’re still quite far away from its launch, at least a year. Plus, it is also expected to debut Ola Electric’s indigenously developed 4680 battery cells which is currently undergoing trial runs.
The above three power packs coupled with a sharp and futuristic design presents a promising case for Ola Roadster X in the commuter motorcycle space. It should help break the spell of controversies that Ola has been embroiled in for the longest of time, and in the process further improve its sales. But Ola’s reputation has always proved to be the opposite.
