We take a look at some of the things that set the Ola S1 Air apart from all other electric scooters in India.
The Ola S1 Air is currently the base variant in Ola’s electric scooter portfolio. It’s the most affordable scooter from Ola until the S1X which will make its India debut on August 15. The Ola S1 Air competes against the Ather 450S and the TVS iQube. Here are the key highlights of the new Ola electric scooter.
Powertrain:
The Ola S1 Air is powered by a hub motor, which is a first for any production Ola scooter. The new motor produces a peak power of 4.5 kW and has a top speed of 90 kmph.
Chassis:
The S1 Air rides on Ola’s all-new Gen 2 platform which is claimed to be lighter and stiffer with better load carrying capacity. Even the footboard has now been made flatter.
Range:
The 2.98 kWh battery pack is smaller than the one found on the S1 Pro and it boasts of a claimed range of 125 km in ‘Eco’ mode. This goes down to 100 km in ‘Normal’ mode.
Suspension:
One of the biggest highlights on the Ola S1 Air is the fact that it comes with a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers at the rear.
Price:
The Ola S1 Air is priced at Rs 1.10 lakh introductory, but this price will rise to Rs 1.20 lakh post August 15 (ex-showroom pricing).
