OnePlus on Tuesday officially announced its winter launch event scheduled for January 7, where the company will introduce the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R smartphones. The event will be live-streamed on YouTube at 9:30 PM IST.
The OnePlus 13 will be a top-tier device, featuring the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and exceptional performance. In contrast, the OnePlus 13R will aim at performance-conscious consumers with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, with robust capabilities at a more accessible price point.

Both smartphones will feature hefty batteries (6,000mAh) with 100W fast charging support. The OnePlus 13 will additionally offer 50W wireless charging, setting it apart from its sibling.
Powered by the latest Android 15-based OxygenOS 15, these devices will ship with advanced AI capabilities and refined software features. Display technology will see significant improvement, with the OnePlus 13 featuring a 2K resolution quad-curved display and the OnePlus 13R offering a 1.5K resolution flat panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. This will be a notable departure from the OnePlus 12R and OnePlus 11R.
The devices will also come with improved display resilience, addressing previous green line issues.
The OnePlus 13 will also feature IP68/69 water and dust resistance rating.
Most notably, the OnePlus 13 is expected to receive the longest software support in the company's smartphone lineup.
Meanwhile, OnePlus has recently announced a new initiative called ‘Project Starlight’ to develop devices, features and services tailored for its customers in India. The company expects to invest Rs 2000 crore annually for at least three years, in what it calls a strategic vision.
The handset maker identified three key areas in which it plans to innovate in order to cater to the needs of Indian smartphone users -- making devices more durable, providing improved customer service, and offering localised features and solutions.
