OnePlus Open is rumoured to be priced at $1699 globally.
OnePlus is set to unveil its first foldable smartphone, the OnePlus Open, at an event in Mumbai on October 19. The premium device is expected to be packed with high-end specifications and a powerful Hasselblad-tuned camera system. While the OnePlus Open is rumoured to be priced at $1699 globally, slightly undercutting the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold, renowned Indian tipster Abhishek Yadav claims the India pricing will be even more aggressive at ₹1,39,999.
If true, this would make the OnePlus Open with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage significantly cheaper than the Galaxy Z Fold 5 in India. The rumoured ₹1,39,999 price tag translates to approximately $1680, undercutting the $1699 European pricing. OnePlus Open buyers can expect a faux leather black finish option along with a glass back in green, similar to the OnePlus Pad.
Under the hood, the OnePlus Open is said to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The foldable phone will feature a 6.3-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch internal foldable screen. Imaging is rumoured to be covered by a versatile triple rear camera setup, much like the OnePlus 11 flagship.
The OnePlus Open's foldable design was already teased by Indian actress Anushka Sharma, wife of star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli currently playing in the cricket World Cup. There is speculation Indian customers may get an exclusive colour variant of the OnePlus Open at launch. OnePlus first revealed plans to enter the foldable smartphone space back in February 2022.
If the rumoured aggressive India pricing of ₹1,39,999 holds true, the OnePlus Open could significantly undercut the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and become the most affordable premium foldable smartphone in the country. The phone is set to launch on October 27 according to the tipster.
