The main selling points of the Oppo F25 Pro 5G will be its design and camera features.
Oppo’s next F-series smartphone, the F25 Pro 5G, will launch in India on February 29 and will cost less than Rs. 25,000, according to a company press release. The Chinese smartphone giant has also confirmed multiple features with which it hopes to tempt buyers, including an IP65 rating for water and dust resistance, a thin and light body, and 4K video recording with both front and rear cameras. Design and camera capabilities are the main selling points of Oppo’s F-series models.
The new F25 Pro 5G is only 7.54mm thick and weighs 177g, according to Oppo. It is said to be the slimmest 5G smartphone with an IP65 rating. This rating means the device should be able to withstand exposure to dust as well as rain and jets of water coming from all directions.
Its body is made out of a polycarbonate resin mixed with glass fibre, and Oppo has used Panda Glass for display protection. The flat sides have a matte finish, while the rear panel is smooth. The corners are rounded for comfort in the hand. The F25 Pro 5G will be available in Lava Red, which the company describes as a blend of deep burgundy and rich sunset tones. Additional colour options, if any, have not yet been detailed.
The Oppo F25 Pro 5G will also have three rear cameras: a primary 64-megapixel camera with a ½-inch Omnivision OV64B sensor and f/1.7 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a Sony IMX355 sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The front shooter has a 32-megapixel IMX615 sensor and f/2.4 aperture. Oppo says this phone will be the first in its segment to support 4K 30fps video recording on the front and rear primary cameras.

There are also AI-powered features to boost the Oppo F25 Pro 5G’s photo and video capabilities. “AI Smart Image Matting” will let users cut one or more subjects out of a frame and turn it into a sticker or PNG image with a transparent background. Moreover, beautification filters now use AI to detect a subject’s race, gender and age in order to apply custom profiles and touch-up effects. These include skin brightening and smoothening, face lifting, and lip and cheek enhancement. Blemishes such as acne and pimples can be removed and pores can be smoothened over. The company also claims that portraits shot in environments with sub-optimal light can be improved by reducing noise and tweaking shots as per “local aesthetic preferences”.
Details of the Oppo F25 Pro 5G’s processor and battery, as well as RAM and storage configurations, have not yet been confirmed. However, the company has stated that it will have a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz peak refresh rate. The teaser images show relatively narrow borders at the top and sides of the screen, as well as a relatively small front camera hole at the top-centre of the panel.
