The company is highlighting the Find N5's remarkably slim profile.
Oppo has officially announced the launch of its latest foldable smartphone, the purported Find N5, scheduled for launch in China next month. The announcement, made by Oppo Chief Product Officer Pete Lau via Weibo on Monday, positions the foldable device as a successor to the Find N3, bypassing the Find N4 designation in the company's product lineup. The device is likely to be unveiled as OnePlus Open 2 globally.
The company is highlighting the Find N5's remarkably slim profile, promoting it as the "world's thinnest foldable phone."
A teaser image shared alongside the announcement suggests the device will be thinner than a standard pencil, which typically measures 7-8mm in thickness. This would represent a significant reduction from its predecessor, the Find N3, which measures 11.7mm when folded.
According to preliminary reports, the Find N5 is expected to feature a Hasselblad-branded triple camera system with a periscope lens. The device is likely to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and include satellite communication capabilities. Technical specifications are reported to include a substantial 6,000mAh battery with wireless charging support.
This ultra-slim design would position the Find N5 to compete directly with other thin foldable devices in the market, such as the Honor Magic V3, which measures 9.2mm when folded and 4.4mm when unfolded. Industry sources indicate the device may also see a global release under the OnePlus Open 2 branding.
The new model is liely to showcase enhanced durability through what Oppo describes as a "new industrial design," complemented by an IPX8 splash resistance rating. These features suggest Oppo's focus on combining innovative design with practical functionality in its latest foldable offering.
