The Seal is the third all-electric BYD offering in India after the e6 and Atto3.
It was just yesterday that BYD launched its electric luxury sedan Seal in India. Bookings for the same had also commenced at the time of launch at ₹1.25 lakh, and in just a day, 200 units of the BYD Seal have already been booked.
Priced between ₹41 lakh with the base Dynamic variant and ₹53 lakh with the top Performance variant, the Seal is quite competitively priced too in a niche segment which includes the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.
Based on the brand’s e-Platform 3.0 which also underpins the Atto3 crossover SUV, the Seal is powered by the brand’s iconic Blade battery technology. It is available with two battery sizes, and while the base Dynamic variant is powered by a 61.44 kWh, the mid and top variant are powered by 82.56 kWh. With optional rear-wheel and all-wheel drive, advanced suspensions, and 0-100 kmph acceleration coming up in just 3.8 seconds in the top Performance variant, the mid Premium variant boasts of a segment-leading range of 650 km. Safety-wise too, the Seal is fitted to the brim which includes ADAS Level 2 functionalities, 9 airbags, autonomous braking and much more.
