Piaggio Vespa 140

The Piaggio Vespa 140 will be on sale for four days and will be limited to just 140 units.

To celebrate its 140th anniversary, Piaggio has launched a very limited and exclusive Vespa called, the Vespa 140. Based on the Vespa GTV,  the Vespa 140 will be limited to just 140 units and will be on sale for four days from April 18 to 21 (those of us in India will be out of luck).

Being a special edition model, the Vespa 140 of Piaggio gets several exclusive treatments. For starters, there’s the subtle yet striking blue and light blue decal and graphics on the white body of the scooter. The seat gets dual-tone stitching, and a white cover for a more sophisticated look. The same colour combination adorns the front apron, the iconic ‘necktie’ design, and on the fender-mounted headlight too. But one of the best design bits of this limited edition Vespa are those striking blue alloy wheels with light blue inserts and the Vespa monogram logo, and the contrasting black finish on the edges of the bodywork, mirrors, exhaust, and passenger footpegs.

Mechanically, the Vespa 140 will feature the same 300 HPE (High Performance Engine) as the standard Vespa GTV. This single-cylinder mill has a claimed output of 23.8 bhp at 8,250 rpm and 26 Nm at 5250 rpm. Feature-wise, it'll remain the same too, the notables of which include the fully digital round instrument cluster, ASR traction control, ABS, and keyless ignition.

As for its price, we expect it to be on the heftier side. However, the exact amount has been kept under wraps. But given that the limited Vespa Bieber edition was priced at a whopping ₹6.45 lakh, this limited edition Vespa GTV wouldn't come affordable by any means.
