The US-based semiconductor giant and Indian mapping pioneer will create new solutions for affordable and entry-level cars and bikes.
Qualcomm and MapMyIndia (which is known outside India as Mappls) have announced a partnership to co-develop localised product and service offerings for smart, connected vehicles. Combining Qualcomm’s semiconductor design experience and digital chassis platform technology with MapMyIndia’s digital maps and localised data, the companies are working on solutions tailored for car as well as bike manufacturers and buyers in India.
The partnership will cover connectivity, vehicle and road safety, and convenience features. MapMyIndia and Qualcomm have stated that they will target low-end and mid-range vehicles aimed at mass-market buyers, offering relatively affordable solutions that are higher quality than existing options. This creates a single-platform software-defined vehicle (SDV) solution that can help vehicle OEMs implement telematics, maps, navigation, device management, and connected services. The companies promise intuitive user interfaces, and offerings that can be customised and personalised per user, based on usage patterns and preferences.
Qualcomm will provide its Snapdragon Digital Chassis, Snapdragon Auto Connectivity, and Snapdragon Car-to-Cloud platforms, while MapMyIndia will implement application programming interfaces and provide detailed, hyper-local digital map data.

The announcement came on the sidelines of the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. In a prepared press statement, Rakesh Verma, CMD and Founder, MapmyIndia, said “Our work with Qualcomm Technologies allows us to bring affordable, state-of-the-art telematics solutions to a broader segment of vehicles. This will enhance the driving experience for Indian consumers by enabling features that were previously available only in premium vehicles. Together, we are democratising access to advanced technologies and services, thereby improving road safety and convenience for all.”
Savi Soin, Senior Vice President and President of Qualcomm India, said “This collaboration with MapmyIndia is an important milestone for both companies. This technology collaboration combines both companies’ expertise to provide world-class automotive solutions that are designed to help automakers accelerate time to market, reduce costs, and deliver better value and experiences to their customers in India as well as globally.”
