Qualcomm has secured a long-term supply agreement with BMW to provide Snapdragon chips for next-gen digital cockpits and automated driving systems.
Semiconductor giant Qualcomm Technologies has signed a multi-year agreement with the BMW Group to serve as the primary compute silicon provider for the German luxury automaker’s next-generation vehicle platforms.
Under the long-term deal, which extends through the next decade, Qualcomm will supply hardware solutions across its Snapdragon Digital Chassis portfolio (including Snapdragon Cockpit processors, automated driving chips, and dedicated AI accelerators) to power BMW’s future digital cockpits and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). While specific financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the agreement establishes the core hardware foundation for BMW's upcoming AI-driven vehicle programs starting next decade.

The expanded partnership builds on a long-standing technical collaboration between the two companies, which recently saw the deployment of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Ride Pilot system in the electric BMW iX3 to enable hands-free highway driving, automated lane changes, and parking assistance.
As major chipmakers navigate an increasingly competitive auto tech landscape, Qualcomm’s agreement with BMW strengthens its ongoing strategic push to expand beyond mobile processors into automotive electronics, competing directly against rivals such as Nvidia and Mobileye.
