Qubo has announced the launch of three new dashcam models, the Dashcam Pro 3K, Dashcam Pro 2.7K, and Dashcam Pro 2K, targeting buyers who want to be protected in case of accidents and road rage incidents regardless of budget.
The top-end Dashcam Pro 3K uses Sony’s Starvis 2 sensor which promises good enough image quality to capture license plates even in low light and against oncoming traffic. It has a 5-megapixel resolution (2592x1944 pixels) with a 140-degree field of view. It is priced at ₹9,990 for the front-facing unit only, or ₹10,990 including a rear-facing 1K camera. The unit has a built-in 3.2-inch LCD screen so footage can be reviewed quickly. Footage is automatically saved when impact is detected. There’s also built-in Wi-Fi and GPS for smartphone connectivity. MicroSD card support goes up to 1TB and there’s no onboard storage.
The Dashcam Pro 2.7K costs ₹5,990 for the front-facing unit only, or ₹7,990 for front and rear recording. It has a 2-inch LCD display and also features sensors for impact detection. Storage support goes up to 1TB, and there’s also Wi-Fi and GPS.
The Dashcam Pro 2K costs ₹3,990 and there’s no option for rear-facing video recording. This model also does not have an integrated screen. It has a 120-degree field of view. There is Wi-Fi for app integration, but no GPS.
All three models can be powered through a car’s cigarette lighter port, and use supercapacitors instead of standard batteries. Qubo says this allows them to withstand a wider range of operating temperatures from 20 to 80 degrees Celsius. They also all feature adhesive tape to mount to any windshield. Buyers can install these cameras themselves, or opt for an authorised partner to do it, for ₹900 (front only) or ₹1,200 (front and rear).
