Jaguar Land Rover has introduced the all-new Range Rover Electric. Built on an 800V architecture with a 118.5 kWh battery, the luxury SUV delivers an estimated real-world range of 535 km.

Jaguar Land Rover has officially revealed the Range Rover Electric, marking the company's first entry into the full battery-electric vehicle market after more than five decades of manufacturing internal combustion and hybrid SUVs.

The electric flagship joins the existing Range Rover platform alongside mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and petrol models as part of JLR's multi-propulsion market strategy, with plans to offer fully electric variants across its broader lineup by 2030.

The vehicle is driven by two 260 kW permanent magnet electric motors delivering a combined output of 543 bhp and 850 Nm of torque, matching petrol V8 power levels. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 4.5 seconds, while mid-range overtaking from 80 to 120 km/h is achieved in 2.7 seconds. Silicon carbide semiconductors provide microsecond switching speeds for optimized efficiency.

Off-road features include Integrated Traction Management (ITM), which adjusts motor response within 50 milliseconds, and Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD) for precise torque distribution. The SUV features a 900 mm wading depth, single-pedal hill departure on slopes up to 33 degrees, rolling climbs on gradients up to 45 degrees, and a lowered centre of gravity paired with twin-chamber air suspension.

Equipped with an 800V architecture, the vehicle utilises a 118.5 kWh lithium-ion double-stack battery containing 344 prismatic cells. The setup delivers a WLTP-certified range of up to 600 km, with a standardised real-world range estimate of approximately 535 km. Using a 350 kW DC fast charger, the battery can replenish from 10% to 80% in 22 minutes or gain 220 km of range in 10 minutes, supported by a split-charging function.

Production takes place at JLR's Solihull facility in the UK, where 9,000 manufacturing staff underwent electrification retraining, complemented by 1,500 additional staff retrained across the West Midlands. The electric propulsion system comes backed by an eight-year or 160,000 km warranty.

A First Edition trim is also offered in Belgravia Green, Santorini Black, or Varesine Blue exteriors, paired with a Light Cloud Ultrafabrics and Kvadrat interior. The price in India is yet to be revealed.
