JLR has previewed the Range Rover Sport Electric prototype at the Goodwood Festival of Speed ahead of its global launch in September 2026.

Land Rover has previewed the all-new Range Rover Sport Electric in prototype form at the recently concluded Goodwood Festival of Speed. Serving as the brand's second fully electric model following the flagship Range Rover Electric, the high-performance luxury SUV is scheduled to go on sale globally in September 2026, with Indian showroom arrivals anticipated by March 2027.

Underpinned by JLR’s MLA-Flex platform the Range Rover Sport Electric features an 800V electrical architecture. Power is drawn from a large 118.5 kWh battery pack that drives two in-house developed electric motors positioned on each axle, establishing an intelligent all-wheel-drive configuration.

This setup produces a combined system output of 545 bhp and 850 Nm of torque. Despite the vehicle's substantial weight of approximately 2,700 kg, the dual-motor layout propels the SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in an estimated 4.4 seconds. The battery chemistry is expected to deliver a real-world driving range of approximately 530 km on a single charge.

Aside from its electrified running gear, the Range Rover Sport Electric remains visually and structurally identical to its internal combustion engine (ICE) siblings. The exterior design is modified only slightly for aerodynamic efficiency, featuring a closed-off front grille and aerodynamically optimised alloy wheels carrying subtle EV badging.

This introduction aligns with Land Rover's wider transition strategy, which aims to offer fully electric options across its entire product portfolio, including the Velar and Evoque nameplates, before 2030.
