Details about his condition haven’t been revealed yet.
Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus, Tata Sons and veteran industrialist, has been admitted to an intensive care unit at a hospital in Mumbai, reported Reuters, citing two sources with direct knowledge.
Details about the 86-year-old business tycoon’s health condition haven’t been revealed but he is said to be very critical. On October 7, Tata posted a statement on his social media handles stating that his medical condition was under control. He mentioned that there was no cause for concern regarding his hospitalisation and that it was part of his routine medical check-up because of his advanced age and related medical conditions.
Ratan Tata managed Tata Sons for more than 20 years and retired as the Chairman in 2012. Despite not being involved in the daily operations of the conglomerate, he was still consulted on big business decisions. After retirement, Tata remained a philanthropist through the Tata Trusts of which he is the Chairman.
Representatives for Tata did not respond to Reuters’ request for an update on his medical conditions. Furthermore, the two sources did not also divulge much about his illness.
