What should you expect from the most affordable Revolt offering.
Recently, Revolt launched its most affordable electric motorcycle – the RV1 – with special introductory prices starting from ₹84,990 (ex-showroom Delhi). The motorcycle is available in two trims: RV1 and RV1+. Here’s what to expect from the bike:
Revolt has opted for a rather simple design with a round headlamp and a boxy tank section. It gives a very 1990s commuter vibe. While the design is not loud, we aren’t on board with the large “leg guard.” It has the potential to be the biggest hazard for the rider as well as other road users, as it could cause more harm than protection.
The RV1 bears LED lighting and a digital dash but nothing modern otherwise. The dash is also a LCD unit with no connectivity to be found whatsoever.
Buyers can opt for either a 2.2 kWh battery pack or a 3.4 kWh battery pack. Both of them are removable and can be charged at home. The claimed range for the respective trims as a result is 100 km and 160 km. What remains to be seen is whether this number is IDC or real-world. Both trims offer the same top speed of 75 kmph and come with three riding modes that cap the speed limit.
On the RV1, Revolt is using a simple downtube chassis that is sprung by means of a telescopic fork/twin shock suspension setup. While it is affordable, the company has not skimped out on the braking department, offering disc brakes at both ends with CBS as standard. You get 17-inch alloy wheels with skinny tyres here to maximise the range of the bike.
Revolt has begun the booking process for the bike for a token amount of ₹499. The introductory prices are ₹84,990 and ₹99,990 for the two trims, both prices, ex-showroom Delhi. Thus, these are two of the more affordable electric motorcycle options in the Indian market.
