The platform allows citizens to see pending traffic violation challans issued to their vehicle, make payments, and use related services online.
The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rosmerta Digital Services Ltd (RDSL) to adopt its new Rosmart digital compliance services platform across the country’s automotive dealer network. The platform, accessed at rosmart.com, allows citizens to see pending traffic violation challans issued to their vehicle, make payments, and use related services online.
The company says pending traffic violations, which a person might not even be aware of, can cause complications when attempting to sell or transfer a vehicle. Dealers sometimes have to help customers navigate the process of clearing these dues. With multiple services claiming to help with traffic challan payments, FADA and Rosmerta say this association will provide a simple, credible, and secure channel to do so.
Staff at participating dealerships and other consumer touchpoints will be able to point customers towards the Rosmart platform by displaying a QR code in their premises, and can provide assistance if needed. They will also be able to manage cases themselves in bulk, with additional features to be rolled out over time. The objective is to reduce friction that might come up during vehicle-related services due to unresolved challans, delaying transactions.
The MoU was signed at FADA’s’ eighth annual Auto Retail Conclave. Sai Giridhar, President, Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), said: “Compliance is an important part of the vehicle ownership journey, and pending traffic challans can often become a major hurdle, particularly in the pre-owned vehicle business. A vehicle may have challans originating from one city or even across multiple states, making their identification and resolution cumbersome for both the customer and the dealer. This is precisely why this initiative matters to FADA. As dealers, we are often the point at which these unresolved issues surface, especially when a vehicle is being exchanged, sold or transferred. At the same time, we are seeing several unauthorized websites and intermediaries claiming to clear traffic challans, which can expose citizens to fraud and cybercrime.”
Hariansh Nagpal, President, Rosmerta Digital Services Limited, said: “We are seeing a rapid shift towards digital services across the automotive ecosystem, but the real value of technology lies in making everyday processes easier for people. A pending traffic violation may seem like a small issue, but it can become a hurdle when a vehicle is being sold or transferred. With Rosmart.com, we wanted to create a simple digital destination where citizens can check their challans and access the services they need to address compliance requirements. Our association with FADA will help us take this service across the automotive retail network and make it more accessible to customers.”
