2 Upcoming Royal Enfield cruisers have been spotted while on testing. One is assumed to be the Royal Enfield Classic 650, whereas the other one would be the smaller version of the Shotgun in a 350cc avatar. Let's break down the spotted details on each bike.
Royal Enfield Classic 650 stays true to its name, sporting a design reminiscent of the RE Classic 350. We see the familiar headlight nacelle with halogen lamps. There is a mid-set footpeg and a flat handlebar combo for an upright riding stance. To complete it all it has classic spoke wheels. Borrowing from its bigger siblings is the 648cc, air-cooled, parallel-twin engine found in the Super Meteor 650. This should deliver an estimated 47.45 bhp and 52 Nm. In terms of suspension, there is a Telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers. We do the Royal Enfield Classic 650 to hold to its retro roots with the colour and design.
Royal Enfield Shotgun 350 has been spotted testing after a hiatus. The bigger 650cc sibling of this motorcycle also has not picked up well in terms of sales and we assume that the smaller engine with a lower price tag might do the trick. Take a look at the Top 5 RE bikes that did well in May 2024. It shares its styling cues with the Royal Enfield Classic 350 but throws in ape hanger handlebars. There might be possibly more forward-set footpegs for a potentially more aggressive riding position. The bobber theme gets amplified with a removable pillion seat. This design is different from the Classic 650. The rear fender hugs the tyre while the look gets completed with a slash-cut exhaust. What is quite noticeable are the white-walled tyres. This unique touch of retro elements makes us assume that this could be called the Royal Enfield Goan with the whole relaxed attitude which resonates with the Goan philosophy of 'Sushegat' literally meaning 'Relaxed'. Powering this motorcycle is likely the familiar 349cc, single-cylinder engine that works its magic in the Classic 350, Meteor 350, and Hunter 350. This engine makes 20 bhp and 27 Nm.
Despite distinct personalities, both the Royal Enfield Classic 650 and Royal Enfield Shotgun 350 share a common heritage. The headlight design, overall silhouette, and spoke wheels create a cohesive Royal Enfield look. Read about other bikes that were spotted recently. The Royal Enfield Classic 650 is expected to launch sometime between August and October 2024, with an estimated price tag of ₹ 3.2 lakh (ex-showroom). Royal Enfield Shotgun 350 is expected to hit the streets even sooner, possibly in the coming months, with a friendlier price tag of ₹ 2.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
Coming next week is the Royal Enfield Guerrilla which is to be unveiled and launched on July 17. More information about it can be found by clicking here.
