This will be the second motorcycle in Royal Enfield’s portfolio to be powered by the Sherpa 450 engine.
Royal Enfield is all-set to launch its second 450 cc offering to the world in the form of the new Guerrilla 450. The bike will be launched in Spain, but prior to its launch plenty of details about this upcoming bike have already been revealed via different spy shots and image leaks.
The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 will carry forward the new ‘Sherpa 450’ engine that debuted with the Himalayan 450. This 450 cc mill is also the brand’s first liquid-cooled unit with ride-by-wire control. While it produces 39.7 bhp/ 40 Nm in the ADV, we expect the same to carry forward to the roadster as well, albeit with subtle changes in the 6-speed transmission.
The Royal Enfield Guerilla 450 will also be built around the same trellis frame which also underpins the Himalayan 450. However, unlike the latter the frame in the Guerrilla 450 will be suspended on telescopic fork, instead of the USD fork available with the ADV, and the monoshock suspension for the rear will remain the same but with less travel. Moreover, it will ride on smaller 17-inch alloy wheels, instead of the 21-/17-inch combo spoke wheels found in the ADV.
Ahead of its launch, leaked images of two Gueriila 450 variants from a TVC shoot had made the rounds on the internet. These visual confirmed that the Guerrilla 450 variants will be separated by different feature lists. So, while the base variants will feature a relatively simpler semi-digital cluster that the brand debuted with the Hunter 350, the top variant will feature the fully-digital round cluster with Google maps integrated into it, just like in the Himalayan 450.
But what will make the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 an attractive proposition will be its numerous funky colour options. While we had recently spotted one being parked inside a service centre in India, the details of which you can read here.
The upcoming Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 will compete against the likes of the Triumph Speed 400, Harley-Davidson X440, and the Hero Mavrick 440. Keeping this competition in purview, we expect this upcoming Royal Enfield 450 cc bike to be priced between ₹2.40 and₹2.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
