Royal Enfield has introduced a new Shadow Ash colour option for the Guerrilla 450 performance roadster. With a matte finish and what the company describes as “deep, smouldering undertones”, this is a grungy new take on one of RE’s sportiest bikes. The fuel tank has a dual-tone look in khaki and black, while the side panels are in a darker brown colour.
The price of the bike in this finish is the same as the existing mid-spec options at ₹2.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). No other changes or updates have been announced. This brings the total number of colour options up to seven, with Shadow Ash joining Brava Blue and Yellow Ribbon (priced at ₹2.54 lakh), Playa Black, Gold Dip and Peix Bronze (priced at ₹2.49 lakh), and Smoke Silver (priced at ₹2.39 lakh).
The company positions the Guerrilla 450 as a “real roadster”, with a stripped-down feature set and muscular design, eschewing plastic body elements and anything that might be considered a distraction – although some trims are available with an LCD dash with smartphone and Google Maps connectivity. This bike, while not the most popular model from Royal Enfield, is described as engineered precisely with high-quality materials with the purpose of delivering “pure, primal fun” for riders. All colour options except the base Smoke Silver one have some playful element of design, described as “non-conformist”, with different colour combinations and graphic motifs.
The Guerrilla 450 is powered by RE’s 452cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled Sherpa engine, the same as used for the Himalayan. It has been engineered for agility across the power band, with a low seat that makes for an upright riding stance, suitable for everyday city traffic as well as road trips. It has a steel twin spar frame, 43mm telescopic front suspension, and linkage-type monoshock rear suspension by Showa.
