It’s no secret that the Himalayan 440 will be launched on September 4 in Leh, Ladakh, and now we have pictures of the upcoming Royal Enfield ADV bike prior to its debut. In these spy shots we get a glimpse of the semi-digital instrument console, which is the same as seen on the Scram 440. One can also spot the Tripper turn-by-turn navigation unit next to the console. Other notable details include non-tubeless spoke wheels wrapped with Ceat tyres. The spy shot also confirms that the design and the proportions of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 have been retained on this upcoming motorcycle.

The revival of the Himalayan in this 440 cc guise is expected to fill an important gap in Royal Enfield’s current AD portfolio. At present, the Royal Enfield Scram 440 serves as the brand’s most affordable off-road centric motorcycle at ₹2.25 lakh, while the Himalayan 450 sits at a considerably higher price point of above ₹3 lakh. The Himalayan 440 is likely to bridge this price gap, with an expected price of around ₹2.50 lakh to ₹2.60 lakh ( all prices are ex-showroom).

Powering the motorcycle will be the same 443 cc, single-cylinder engine found in the Scram 440. Producing around 25 bhp and 34 Nm of torque, the motor will be paired with a six-speed gearbox. The addition of a sixth gear is expected to improve highway cruising ability, which was among the biggest shortcomings of the original Himalayan 411.

Cycle parts are also likely to remain unchanged, including the 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels, telescopic front fork, monoshock suspension, and disc brakes with dual-channel ABS. Post the launch of the Himalayan 440, Royal Enfield is expected to showcase the new Interceptor 750, Continental 750 and the Himalayan 750 at the upcoming 2026 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy in the first week of November.
