The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is the brand’s first motorcycle powered by a liquid-cooled mill, with throttle-by-wire input.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is all set to hit the American market in August. The brand’s first motorcycle to utilise a liquid-cooled engine aka the Sherpa 450 has already been revered by all across the globe for the performance it offers. However, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is not a perfect motorcycle. It has a few caveats that we unearthed during our 500 km endurance test, which you can find out in the video below.
Yet, there is no denying the fact that the new Himalayan 450 is more refined than ever before. It produces a respectable 39.47 bhp and 40 Nm, which is quite the comfortable spec for long-distance touring. And thanks to its brilliant suspension tune, the ADV becomes the ideal choice for anyone who would be undeterred over broken tarmac roads.
The US market might also receive the same set of accessories and a headlight grille, which has been confirmed already in the teaser image above.
In India, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is priced from ₹2.85 lakh to ₹2.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and it competes against the KTM 390 ADV, which is another model that is already sold in the USA at $7,399. Just like the KTM, Royal Enfield will also import the Himalayan 450 to the US market, which by default will attract additional import tax. All that remains to be seen is how competitively Royal Enfield prices its ADV at.
