A YouTuber got a chance to ride the pre-production unit and her journey shares some key info about the upcoming ADV
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 is definitely the hottest and most eagerly anticipated bike launch of 2023. Royal Enfield has been subtly sharing information about the upcoming adventure motorcycle and even gave a YouTuber a chance to ride a pre-production bike through the country and share her journey with it. And thanks to her, we have come to know about some interesting details of the new Himalayan.
The biggest new bit of information is that the Himalayan is going to get a full colour-TFT dash that looks pretty smashing. Not only that, Royal Enfield has upgraded its Tripper navigation capabilities, integrating it into the console, and providing mobile-like navigation. It is almost similar to the navigation functionality on the Ather 450X or when you use Apple CarPlay/Android Auto in four-wheelers.
The fuel tank continues to have an industrial look to it but it now has flared sides. And the cool neat bit here are the neat gravel-inspired graphics on the Kamet White shade. As a result, perhaps the fuel tank capacity might’ve also shot up and hence the kerb weight of the bike is nearly as much as the current Himalayan. This would mean that possibly, the dry weight of the Himalayan 452 is quite a bit less than the outgoing 411.
Regarding its adventure-ready parts, in order to remove the rubber inserts from the clawed footpegs, you will need tools. There’s a metal bash plate that looks standard, the radiator guard seems like an accessory and the knuckle protectors look to be far sturdier than the ones that are currently offered as part of the Himalayan 411’s accessories catalogue.
The engine has a typical short stroke free revving tune. The YouTuber commented that it feels a lot more energetic than her current Himalayan and we aren’t surprised about that. However, just how much better is the engine, we shall find out early next month.
Besides the vlog, there were also a few image leaks that showcased two more colours of the bike. There’s a neat black and yellow option with golden rims, the livery looking awfully similar to the 40th Anniversary Edition of the BMW GS bikes. And there was also a grey with red accents version, which didn’t feel quite as hot.
Lastly, the leaked images also showed a Himalayan with tubeless spoke rims. Perhaps this could be part of the accessories catalogue or a separate variant for the serious adventure seeker. Whatever be the case, we shall know more about the same in the next few weeks.
