The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will launch with a premium asking price.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has become one of the most preferable adventure bikes worldwide. It’s brute, rugged, competent and versatile to take on any terrain. To further amplify these qualities with more vigour will be its corresponding Rally variant. Royal Enfield had already revealed the Himalayan 450 in its rally spec during the standard bike’s launch last year but it still hasn’t gone on sale yet. However, the manufacturer plans to repeat the same at the 2024 EICMA, which, in all probability, will be followed by an official price announcement.
The upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Rally was recently spotted in Milan, all wrapped up prior to its debut at the 2024 EICMA motorcycle show.. And while the underpinnings and mechanicals of the bike will be the same as the standard Himalayan 450. With the “Rally” suffix, the bike will gain a bunch of upgrades, including more travel to the suspension, thereby increasing ground clearance. A new standard single-piece rally seat, performance exhaust, coupled with a headlight grille, knuckle guards, tubeless spoke wheels, off-road spec tyres and a bigger engine bash plate, will be some of the noteworthy add-ons to the bike. It also has a slim single seat, and even the tail section is narrower to make the bike compact while tackling trails.
Beyond that, the Sherpa 450 engine will most likely carry forward the same 39.47 bhp/ 40 Nm, however the power output could be higher courtesy the performance exhaust.. The 6-speed gearbox and assist-and-slipper clutch remain the same.
As for its price, we expect the Rally variant will command around ₹30,000-₹50,000 more than the current Himalayan 450’s asking price, which starts from ₹2.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Moreover, RE might also offer the Rally spec as an upgrade option; however, the exact details will be revealed by tomorrow. Stay tuned to this space, for we will be reporting from Milan live.
