Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Watch 7, Galaxy Watch Ultra, and its first smart ring, the Galaxy Ring.
Samsung announced its latest wearable device lineup at the Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris. The South Korean tech giant unveiled the Galaxy Watch 7, Galaxy Watch Ultra, and its first smart ring, the Galaxy Ring.
The Galaxy Watch 7 offers advanced health monitoring features and fitness tracking capabilities in 40mm and 44mm sizes. It introduces new features such as a sleep apnea detection tool and an advanced glycation end products (AGEs) index for tracking biological ageing. The Watch 7 is powered by Samsung's first 3nm processor in a wearable, promising improved performance and efficiency.
In a significant shift from previous years, Samsung has replaced its Classic variant with the new Galaxy Watch Ultra, a direct competitor to the Apple Watch Ultra. The Galaxy Watch Ultra is a performance-oriented model that comes in a single 47mm size and is designed for extreme environments. It boasts enhanced durability with a titanium frame and water resistance up to 10 ATM. It offers extended battery life and specialized features for activities like triathlons and high-altitude sports.
The most awaited announcement was the Galaxy Ring, Samsung's entry into the smart ring market. This compact wearable focuses on health monitoring and sleep tracking, offering a less intrusive alternative to smartwatches. The Galaxy Ring is available in multiple sizes and finishes, promises up to seven days of battery life, and integrates with Samsung's health ecosystem.
All three devices incorporate AI-powered features, aiming to provide users with more personalized health insights and recommendations. They also leverage Samsung's connected ecosystem, allowing seamless integration with other Galaxy devices.
The new wearables are set to run on the latest version of Wear OS 5, developed in collaboration with Google, offering access to a wide range of apps and services.
The Galaxy Watch 7 is priced at Rs 29,999 for the 40 mm size and goes up to Rs 36,999 for the 44 mm model. The Galaxy Watch Ultra is priced at Rs 59,999. The Watch 7 and Watch Ultra are up for pre-orders and go on sale from July 24. The Galaxy Ring is priced at $399. India price and availability details are awaited.
