The company intends to go public with an IPO in the 2026-27 timeframe.
Bengaluru-based electric mobility startup Simple Energy has announced a number of milestones in its expansion as it gears up to launch its IPO in the 2026-27 timeframe. The company says it sold 1,050 units of its Simple One Gen 1.5 and Simple OneS scooters in October 2025, thanks to its rapid growth in terms of manufacturing capacity as well as its retail footprint across India in recent months. This is the highest monthly sales figure that Simple Energy has ever announced.
Revenue for the current financial year is already 125 percent that of the entire FY2024-25, just seven months since April 1. In a press statement, Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO of Simple Energy said “Every milestone, from scaling production and expanding our team to broadening our store and service centre footprint, is part of a deliberate plan to strengthen the company and serve our customers better. As we move toward 150 stores and service centres by March 2026, we remain focused on driving growth through innovation, accessibility, and trust.”
Production at the company’s Hosur, Tamil Nadu manufacturing plant has increased by 40 percent. The company says it has also expanded its workforce, with a marketing team of more than 40 people, as part of its expansion drive. The company currently has 61 retail locations across various parts of the country, and plans to enter Delhi, Bhopal, Patna, Ranchi, and Bhubaneshwar in the near future.
Recently surfaced regulatory filings indicate that the company is planning to branch out from its current portfolio of performance-focused scooters, with a more family-friendly model. It is likely to have a more traditional design, a flat seat, and plenty of storage space. There is no official confirmation of any product launch timeline yet. This purported model would likely compete with the popular Ather Rizta, TVS iQube, Hero Vida VX2, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 X, Kinetic DX Electric, Suzuki e-Access, and others.
Simple Energy also announced in September this year that it was the first company in India to commercially manufacture rare-earth-free motors, in an effort to reduce reliance on imports, which have been constrained in the recent past, leading to manufacturing slowdowns for some companies.
