While Skoda Auto India had already hinted on the Enyaq coming to India, the addition of another electric SUV for the country is big news.
Skoda Auto today confirmed that India will get the Enyaq as well as a new Global electric SUV. While Skoda Auto India had already hinted on the Enyaq coming to India, the addition of another electric SUV for the country is big news. Klaus Zellmer, CEO, Skoda Auto, in his presentation at the 64th Annual Society Of Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) convention, made it very clear that the company has planned to launch 2 EVs in the country. Skoda’s CEO did not provide any timeline for the launch though.
The Enyaq made its India debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024. At the announcement of the subcompact SUV earlier this year, Skoda confirmed that it will launch an EV in India but that will only come after the subcompact SUV. It remains to be seen which variant of the Enyaq will be sold in India but the top-spec 85x is the one that will most likely come to the market in the CBU form. The 85x variant produces 282 bhp and 545 Nm with power going to all four wheels. It has a 77 kWh battery pack with a range of up to 539 km.

The Global SUV BEV that Skoda has earmarked for India is most likely the Elroq. The global debut of the car is yet to happen, but Like the Enyaq, it is likely to come in its top-spec 85x variant that will have an all-wheel drive configuration with 295 bhp and an 85 kWh battery pack. Skoda claims the Elroq will have a range of up to 560 km.
Besides the two EVs Skoda is already gearing up to launch its first subcompact SUV – the Kylaq, into the Indian market. The company will also launch the new generation of the Kodiaq as well, by the first half of 2025.
