Škoda India Teases Black-Themed Special Editions of Slavia, Kushaq, and Kylaq

Škoda Auto India has released a teaser video announcing special editions of its three models, the Slavia, Kushaq, and the new Kylaq, slated for a launch on August 11. In the teaser, all three cars are wrapped in black, with their silhouettes lit, and a single visible shot of the Kushaq's rear is shown, done in black and featuring black 'Skoda' lettering.

The cosmetic updates expected are:

• Full black paint job
• Blacked-out grille, alloy wheels, and emblems
• Red brake callipers
• Red accents on door cladding for contrast

This styling approach is intended to give the cars a more aggressive, sportier profile without compromising their current body proportions and lines.

No Mechanical Changes Expected

Given Škoda's history of special editions and current product positioning, these updates are likely to be cosmetic only. All three cars are likely to carry over their current petrol engine line-up, the 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol and the 1.5-litre TSI, with the same manual and automatic gearbox combinations currently available in standard grades. Performance, ride, and handling will not alter.

First for Kylaq, Familiar for Slavia & Kushaq

This is the first special edition of the Kylaq, which was launched towards the end of last year as Skoda's global subcompact SUV for India. The Slavia and Kushaq, however, have received special editions previously, such as Anniversary Editions, Monte Carlo Editions, and Matte Editions. The Monte Carlo version of the Kushaq, for instance, used the same strategy of sporty visual elements without changing the mechanical package.
