The updated Octavia will get a refreshed fascia with a new headlamp design, a new grille and a redesigned bumper. It will get larger headlamps with two boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. The profile doesn’t seem to have changed much, but the sketches show new designs for the alloy wheels. The taillamps of the Octavia seem to have the same basic shape as before but the lighting signature has been updated. Furthermore, the design of the rear bumper has also been revised. The Octavia will continue to be offered in two body styles – notchback and estate.
Skoda has also shared sketches of the Octavia RS. The high-performance version of the Octavia can be seen with a more aggressive front-end design. The RS will get larger air intakes and will possibly also have a blacked-out grille. Also, the alloy wheels of Octavia RS will get larger, dual-tone alloys that sport a new design.
The marque hasn’t revealed the interior of the Octavia as of now but expect it to get a redesigned dashboard as well as new features. It will likely have a larger infotainment touchscreen than before and also get Skoda’s new knobs for HVAC controls that debuted on the new Kodiaq and Superb.
While there is no confirmation on the powertrain options Skoda will offer with the Octavia, expect it to continue with options like a 1.4-litre plug-in hybrid, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The Octavia is also likely to continue with manual and automatic gearbox options like before.
The Octavia is unlikely to return to India but Skoda could launch the Octavia RS in India either later this year or in 2025. The plug-in hybrid high-performance version of the Octavia could come to India in limited numbers.
