Fresh reveals and updates on the company's upcoming slate of PlayStation 5, PS VR2, and multiplatform games.
Sony's latest State of Play event delivered a packed 35-minute showcase with fresh reveals and updates on the company's upcoming slate of PlayStation 5, PS VR2, and multiplatform games spanning genres.
The show started by unveiling a fiery new trailer for Firewalk Studios' upcoming 5v5 multiplayer shooter, Concord, set in an original sci-fi universe. The trailer offers the first glimpse of Concord's gameplay, characters, and distinct fighting styles. Concord is slated for an August 23 release on PS5 and PC, with a beta planned for July.
Sony also unveiled the long-rumored new Astro Bot game, a sequel to Astro's Playroom. This supersized space odyssey will take players across six galaxies and over 80 levels when it launches exclusively on PS5 on September 6, with pre-orders opening on June 7.
In a major multiplatform announcement, God of War Ragnarok's highly anticipated PC release is confirmed for September 19. The PC version will include the Valhalla DLC and enhancements like ultrawide monitor support and DLSS/FSR. Do note that the game will require a PlayStation Network account.
Other major reveals included Dynasty Warriors Origins for PS5 in 2025, the open-world dress-up adventure Infinity Nikki coming to PS5, the free-to-play dark fantasy RPG Ballad of Antara in 2025, and a first look at Behemoth, Skydance's next VR action-adventure following The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners, launching for PSVR2 in October.
PlayStation VR2 will also receive the Alien: Rogue Incursion from Survios this holiday season. NetEase showcased Marvel Rivals, a 5v5 PvP hero shooter featuring Marvel characters that will enter closed beta in July.
Fan-favourite franchises made a strong showing as well, with Until Dawn confirmed for a PS5/PC remaster in Fall 2024, Path of Exile 2 announced for PS5 with couch co-op and a 2024 early access launch, and the long-awaited Silent Hill 2 remake officially dated for October 8 as per the new gameplay footage.
Capping off the event, Capcom unveiled a stunning new trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds, the series' next mainline entry coming to PS5 in 2025, highlighting its lush environments and fearsome monsters.
