South Indian Star Ajith Kumar Set to Compete in Porsche GT3 Cup in European 24H Series

Ajith Kumar Racing, a newly established motorsport team, has made an ambitious debut with plans to compete in international racing circuits, starting with the prestigious 24H Series European Championship in the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup category. The announcement includes notable news for fans and motorsport enthusiasts: alongside team ownership, South Indian cinema superstar Ajith Kumar will return to competitive racing, sharing the spotlight with Fabian Duffieux, the team's official driver.

Ajith Kumar, renowned for his illustrious career in Indian cinema, is also an experienced motorsport competitor. He is one of the few Indian celebrities who have successfully transitioned from the entertainment industry to professional racing. Ajith’s involvement in the sport is not a mere hobby but a serious pursuit that spans two decades, making him one of the few Indian drivers with international racing credentials.

Ajith's motorsport journey began with participating in the 2004 Formula Asia BMW F3 Championship, a feeder series for aspiring Formula 1 drivers. He further expanded his racing portfolio by competing in the 2010 FIA Formula 2 Championship, a stepping-stone series to Formula 1. These efforts established Ajith as a prominent figure in Indian motorsport, joining an elite list of Indian drivers who have represented the country on global racing platforms.

Fabian Duffieux, the official driver for Ajith Kumar Racing, brings with him a wealth of experience. Duffieux is recognized for his competitive edge in European racing circuits, particularly in endurance formats. His appointment as the lead driver highlights the team’s aim to blend experience with ambition, and his collaboration with Ajith Kumar will be key to the team’s success in their debut season.

The 24H Series, which consists of multi-class endurance races across Europe and the Middle East, will be Ajith Kumar Racing's first major endeavour.
