Stellantis has sponsored two Citroën e-C3 vehicles to SRM Institute of Science and Technology to accelerate EV research and hands-on learning.
SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) has partnered with Stellantis India to advance electric vehicle (EV) research and engineering education, strengthening India’s push towards sustainable mobility.
Stellantis has supplied two Citroën e-C3 electric vehicles to SRMIST’s Centre for Electrical Mobility.
These vehicles serve as platforms for students and faculty to conduct system testing, diagnostics, and performance optimisation studies, offering hands-on experience with production EVs.
Established in 2022 with a ₹20 crore investment from SRMIST and the Department of Science and Technology, the 28,000-square-foot Centre for Electrical Mobility focuses on developing and testing EV components, including motors, controllers, batteries, and charging systems.
The partnership goes beyond vehicle provision, fostering technical collaboration between Stellantis experts and SRMIST faculty.
Joint initiatives include knowledge-sharing workshops and skill development programmes tailored to meet automotive industry needs, ensuring graduates are industry-ready.
The Citroën e-C3 vehicles enable practical research into EV systems, enhancing understanding of battery efficiency, motor performance, and charging infrastructure. This hands-on approach bridges the gap between academic theory and real-world application, driving innovation in EV technology.
By integrating research with production expertise, the partnership aims to develop EV systems ready for market, enhancing India’s role in global EV innovation.
With India’s EV market growing, this collaboration aims to equip engineers with skills for sustainable mobility.
