It is reported that the Suzuki plant has been shut since May 10 because of this attack
India’s 5th largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Suzuki Motorcycle India, has had to shut its plant for a week because of a cyberattack. According to reports the plant has been shut since May 10 and production too has taken a hit.
Team Acko Drive reached out to the company and the spokesperson said, “We are aware of the incident and have promptly reported the same to the concerned Government department. The matter is currently under investigation, and for security purposes we are unable to provide further details at this point in time.”
Suzuki Motorcycle India has had a strong start to 2023 and has an overall market share of 5 per cent. However, scooters like the Access and Burgman Street, have seen good demand, which is why last financial year 90 per cent of the total output for the company was scooters. With a 14 per cent market share in the scooter space, Suzuki plans to introduce more products to its line-up. But a cyberattack such as this, has derailed some of those plans for sure.
