The Altroz Racer will primarily rival the i20 N Line. Unlike the N Line, which only has a few mechanical updates over the standard i20 and doesn’t get any bump in power, the Altroz Racer will. It is expected to come with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Nexon with 118 bhp and 170 Nm on tap, 10 bhp and 30 Nm more than the Altroz i-Turbo which also gets a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. While the standard Altroz gets a 5-speed manual gearbox, the Altroz Racer is likely to get a 6-speed manual gearbox instead.

Cosmetically, the Altroz Racer will be slightly different to the standard Altroz. It will come with dual-tone paint schemes with twin stripes in the middle, different alloy wheels, ‘Racer’ badges and minimal use of chrome.

Inside, the Altroz Racer will get an all-black cabin with contrast stitching as well as contrast stringing in the middle. It is also likely to debut with the larger, 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen that has been a much-anticipated feature. A teaser shared by Tata Motors confirms that the Altroz Racer will come with ventilated front seats. It is also likely to get a 360-degree camera, a head-up display, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a sunroof and a wireless charger.

The Altroz Racer is likely to be priced between ₹9.5 - 11 lakh. The standard Altroz is priced between ₹6.65 - 10.65 lakh. The i20 N Line, in comparison, is priced between ₹10 - 12.52 lakh. (All prices ex-showroom, India)
