The Tata Curvv.ev was launched today at an introductory price of ₹17.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
After several glimpses and anticipation, the Tata Curvv.ev has finally been launched today at an introductory price of ₹17.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Bookings for the brand’s first compact electric SUV will officially commence from August 12 onwards, although unofficial bookings had already commenced earlier at several showrooms.
Launched with two battery pack options - 55 kWh and 45 kWh – the Curvv.ev can do 585 km of range on a single charge (ARAI-claimed). The battery pack comes paired to a 123 kW electric motor which helps produce 2500 Nm of torque at the shaft. Tata Motor claims that the Curvv has 45-60 per cent better acceleration power over the Tata Nexon.ev, which slots right below this compact electric SUV.
Beyond that, Tata has loaded the Curvv.ev to the brim with features. From level 2 ADAS to 360-degree surround camera, Tata Motors has also become the first Indian manufacturer to introduce a unique Acoustic Vehicle Alert System aka AVAS, wherein the vehicle emits a sound to inform pedestrians about the electric coupe SUV's arrival. This sound is emitted under 20 kmph and automatically cuts off post that.
The Tata Curvv.ev has been launched in five variants, namely, Creative, Accomplished, Accomplished+S, Empowered+, and Empowered+A. While the base Creative variant is available with just the 45 kWh battery pack option, the top-spec Empowered+ and Empowered+A variants are exclusively available with the 55 kWh battery pack priced at ₹21.25 lakh and ₹21.99 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. In this price range, the Tata Curvv.ev will compete against the likes of the MG ZS EV and the BYD Atto 3.
