The one-off Huayra Epitome gets a 7-speed manual gearbox mated to its 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine.
Pagani has revealed the first-ever Huayra with a manual gearbox, called the Huayra Epitome. Mated to its V12 engine is a 7-speed manual transmission. The Huayra Epitome, designed by Pagani’s Grandi Complicazoni special vehicles division, took 19 months to complete.
This one-off Huayra can be a pallbearer of the Epitome name, especially as it gets a 7-speed manual transmission. This gated manual transmission is produced by Xtrac which Pagani claims gives a ‘pure mechanical driving experience’. This gearbox uses a new triple-disc clutch which Pagani claims improves torque transmission and sends power to the rear wheels.
The 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine, built by AMG, produces 852 bhp and 1,100 Nm of torque. While this is the first time the Huayra gets a manual gearbox, it generally comes with a 7-speed AMT gearbox from Xtrac. Pagani says the top speed of the Huayra Epitome is electronically limited to 350 kmph.
Pagani claims the altered suspension in the Epitome reduces the pitch and roll compared to the standard Huayra. However, a Super Soft mode makes the ride more comfortable on rough roads. At speeds over 150 kmph, the suspension returns to its normal condition, depending on the selected driving mode.
The Huayra Epitome has an exposed carbon fibre bodywork finished in a shade of Dark Blue, complemented by gold accents in the headlamp and taillamp cluster, front aero wings, alloy wheels and badges. It gets boomerang-shaped LED DRLs in the redesigned front bumper, a fixed rear wing and a new taillamp cover to reduce drag. The Epitome gets Pagani’s signature four exhaust tips in the top part of the rear bumper, but it also gets two additional exhaust tips in the rear bumper that utilise the blown diffuser effect and increase downforce.
Inside, it is a standard Pagani affair with exquisite materials used everywhere. However, the biggest differences between the standard Huayra and the Epitome are the gated manual gear shift lever in the centre and the three pedals. The cabin has a multi-tone finish with Grey and Brown upholstery along with Black carbon fibre and aluminium accents.
