The top speed of the bike is severely limited in said riding mode
Tork Motors has rolled out a new update for its Kratos R electric motorcycle where you get a new Eco+ riding mode. As the name implies, it takes the job of delivering incredible range very seriously. Hence, claimed real world range in this mode is 150 km, 30 km more than the standard Eco mode.
In order to achieve this high figure, which is very close to the 180 km IDC range number, Tork has severely limited the top speed in this mode. The bike will not go faster than 35 kmph in Eco+, which is half of the top speed of Eco. In our experience with e-scooters, the 35 kmph restriction feels a little hazardous on our roads. You end up being a rolling obstacle on our streets. If it was just a bit more, say 40 kmph, it would give you that extra boost to stay level with the traffic and still get a healthy range.
This new mode will be rolled out like an OTA update for existing Tork Kratos R owners and for the new ones, it will come in as standard. Besides that the Kratos R remains unchanged. It still is powered by the 9 kW axial flux motor with 38 Nm on tap and boasts of a top speed of 105 kmph.
It is currently priced at Rs 1,87,499 (ex-showroom Bengaluru with FAME-II subsidy included), with a further Rs 20,000 off if you opt for the Urban trim. The Urban trim comes with only Eco riding mode, and we are guessing now Eco+. Hence, you won’t be able to explore the whole potential of the Kratos R with this version.
