India will get the GT and Rally Pro variants and prices for both were revealed on the website briefly.
Triumph has updated its Tiger 900 series of adventure bikes and it now gets three variants – GT, GT Pro and Rally Pro. The British marquee says each variant provides a significant step up in terms of performance.
As per Triumph’s website, India will only get the Tiger 900 GT and Tiger 900 Rally Pro variants. The website also briefly mentioned the prices of the two variants but they were later taken down. Prices for the GT variant start at Rs. 13.95 lakh, while the Rally Pro variant’s prices start at Rs. 15.95 lakh (both ex-showroom, Delhi). As per reports, deliveries of the Tiger 900 are expected to begin in February 2024.
The Tiger 900’s engine has been revamped and the 888 cc, liquid-cooled, inline-three-cylinder engine now produces 106.5 bhp and 90 Nm of torque. Triumph says this is an improvement of 13 bhp and 3 Nm over the outgoing model. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with wet, multi-plate slip and assist clutch.
The adventure bike also gets a new suspension and all variants get their set-up. The GT variants get Marzocchi 45 mm upside down (USD) front forks and rear monoshock with 180 mm and 170 mm travel, respectively. The Rally Pro variant gets Showa 45 mm USD forks and a rear monoshock with 240 mm and 230 mm travel, respectively. Both get twin 320 mm front disc brakes and a single 255 mm rear disc brake with optimised cornering ABS and traction control with IMU.
While the GT variant gets 100/90-R19 wheels at the front, the Rally Pro variant rides on 90/90-R21 wheels. Both get 150/70-R17 wheels at the back. The GT variant gets Metzeler Tourance tyres and the Rally Pro gets Bridgestone Battlax Adventure tyres.
The Tiger 900 gets a 7-inch TFT display from the larger Tiger 1200 series. It gets Bluetooth connectivity and USB-C ports as standard. The Tiger 900 has up to six riding modes which include Road, Rain, Sport and Off-Road as standard. The Rally Pro variant gets two more riding modes – Rider Configurable and Off-Road Pro.
Triumph has also altered the seat on the Tiger 900 series. Triumph says the seat is now flatter and roomier than before and the Rally Pro variant also gets the option of a heated seat as well as grips. Both variants get adjustable seats with the GT’s ranging between 820-840 mm and Rally Pro’s ranging between 860-880 mm.
The Tiger 900 GT is offered in three colour options – Graphite/ Sapphire Black, Snowdonia White/ Sapphire Black and Carnival Red/ Sapphire Black. The Rally Pro variant is also offered in three colour options which include Carbon Black/Sapphire Black, Ash Grey/ Intense Orange and Matt Khaki Green/ Matt Phantom Black.
