New dark look gives a mean look to the Apaches
TVS has launched a fresh new colour update for its 160 cc Apaches. On both of the Apache RTR 160 2V and Apache RTR 160 4V, customers can now opt for the dark theme called the ‘Blaze of Black’ editions. Prices for these particular colours are set at 1,20,420 and 1,24,870 for the 2V and 4V respectively (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). These are available in only a front disc-rear drum brake variant, coming in at the same price as the other colours.
The Apaches now get a shiny all-black treatment all round. Right from the plastics to the chassis to the engine to the various other elements, all seemed to be dipped in gloss black. The rims do get red-coloured quarter rim tapes to give it a bit more sporty feel. Even the embossed TVS logo on the tank is now present in a dark shade.
Besides the colour, the bikes remain mechanically unchanged. The more powerful Apache RTR 160 4V continues to push out 17.37 bhp and 14.73 Nm from its 159.7 cc air-cooled 4-valve mill. The older Apache’s mill makes 15.82 bhp and 13.85 Nm. As previously mentioned, the new colours are only available on the base front disc-rear drum brake variant of each bike, although you can skip this and get dual disc trims on either.
So, while we are happy that TVS has spruced up its 160s, we are hoping that TVS will bring out something even more exciting in the coming few months. Perhaps, the much desired ADV motorcycle from the off-roading champs is something that is long in the tooth. Will we get it in 2024? We do hope so.
