TVS has announced benefits up to ₹12,500 for its mass-market family-friendly electric offering – the iQube. Although there is no change to the ex-showroom price of the iQube variants, these benefits are available in the form of cashback offers and extended warranty programs.
The TVS iQube is available with a flat cashback offer of up to ₹7,500. Along with that an extended warranty for up to 5 years or 70,000 km, whichever comes first, is also being offered at ₹1000. There’s also ‘no cost EMI’ available with the electric scooters as well.
The iQube is powered by two Li-ion batteries with a cumulative output of 3.04 kWh. These packs take approximately five hours to charge fully using an offboard charger. The batteries are paired to a 4.4 kW BLDC motor mounted on the hub. This motor produces 140 Nm of peak torque at the wheel. This setup is good for 100 km of range on a single charge, and TVS claims that the iQube can do 0-40 kmph in just 4.2 seconds and do a top speed of 78 kmph.
Both the iQube and iQube S variants get a 5-inch, full-colour TFT instrument cluster with TVS’ SmartXonnect function (the brand’s lingo for Bluetooth connectivity). All important details like range, incoming call and message notifications, turn-by-turn navigation, etc are available for display. Moreover, the electric scooters also get telematic features like geofencing, anti-theft alert, and live location status as standard features.
The ex-showroom price of the TVS iQube starts from ₹1.56 lakh with the base-spec iQube variant, followed by the mid-spec iQube S variant priced at ₹1.63 lakh. Its competition includes the Bajaj Chetak, Ather 450S, and the Ola S1 Air.
