The newly launched TVS Jupiter 110 is built on a completely new platform, and it will also be launched there.
During an online media roundtable, TVS Motor Company revealed that the brand will further expand its operations in Indonesia with the newly launched Jupiter 110. Built on an entirely new platform, the TVS Jupiter 110 was launched on August 22, with a completely new body design, new features, and a much more premium appeal—all aligned with the company’s Reimagine 2030 vision. The Hosur-based manufacturer has already invested around ₹150 crore on this new platform, and the brand plans to manufacture it at its plant in Indonesia.
One of the prime reasons for doing so is to benefit from the ASEAN Free Trade Area, which means there will be no tariffs on products shipped to Southeast Asia. While TVS recently commenced business in Vietnam, it is already present in the Philippines. By moving the manufacturing process of the new TVS Jupiter 110 to Indonesia, the manufacturer should not just benefit from free tariffs but also embark on other markets like Taiwan, Malaysia, etc., more effectively.
On this note, TVS established its Indonesia plant almost two decades ago. However, the plant has become profitable in the last 3–4 years due to stiff competition from Japanese manufacturers like Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki, who had dominated the market at the time.
