The popularity of the Ntorq 125 further gave TVS the courage to expand its 125 cc portfolio.
After being in production for around seven years, the TVS Ntorq 125 is on the brink of crossing 2 million sales. Yes, TVS sold 18,88,715 units of the 125 cc scooter from 2018 to December 2024. This means that out of the 7.94 million scooters that TVS sold in the country since February 2018, 24 per cent of those dispatches were of the Ntorq 125, thus making it one of the most popular offerings from the Hosur-based manufacturer after the Jupiter 110.
Such resounding success does not surprise us, for the Ntorq 125 has always been an exciting and reliable scooter. Its funky and sharp styling felt quite novel, amongst a sea of commuter scooters which looked dull and boring. Its 124.8 cc, single-cylinder engine with its 9.3 bhp/ 10.5 Nm performance output further added to that excitement. Lastly, the plethora of features that Ntorq 125 came with, which included smartphone connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, etc., all came together to exuberate a sense of premium-ness, which was seldom found with the other options back then. Moreover, it was this growing popularity for the Ntorq 125 that encouraged TVS to expand its 125 cc portfolio, which led to the birth of the TVS Jupiter 125 in 2021.

In the current financial year, TVS has already sold a total of 2,67,679 units of the Ntorq 125, which might be a 6 per cent year-on-year growth, but at the same time, its share in TVS’s scooter portfolio has dropped by 20 per cent. Yet, the TVS Ntorq 125 is the fourth best-selling scooter in India, preceded by the Honda Activa, Suzuki Access, and TVS Jupiter 110.
Currently, the TVS Ntorq 125 is available in six variants: Drum, Disc, Race Edition, Super Squad Edition, Race XP, and Race XT. Prices range from ₹84,600 to ₹1,04,600 (ex-showroom, Delhi). While the Race XP and Race XT differ from the other variants with a slightly more powerful tune at 10.2 bhp and 10.8 Nm, the rest of the variants differ more on the basis of aesthetics, besides the regular hardware difference.
