Adding another feather in its motorsport cap, TVS has launched its first Ronin Drift R School in Pune at Pro Dirt Adventure. TVS aims to make flat tracking a more accessible and popular sport that enthusiasts can take up as a hobby. The steed that TVS will use to train riders will be the Ronin, which has been modified a great bit to go sliding.
So, off go the unnecessary bits and bobs that might be mandatory for road usage but are no good for flat tracking. Hence, this has no mirrors, headlight, saree guard, pillion footrests and even the front brake. Yep, flat tracking needs no front brake at all as one controls the bike primarily via clutch and throttle.
The engine gets a free flow exhaust, the subframe is flattened out for flat tracking and you get a swept back handlebar for better control. It is rolling on the same 17-inch wheels but they come wrapped with Timsun dirt spec rubber. The sprocketing is revised for quicker response as well.
“The TVS Ronin Drift R School is an exciting opportunity for riders to experience flat track racing with the signature Ronin twist—blending our modern-retro design with the spirited essence that defines our brand. This initiative goes beyond teaching riding techniques; it’s about creating a space where riders can discover their passion, enhance their skills, and be part of a community that shares a love for the sport,” said Vimal Sumbly, head of TVS’ Premium Business unit.
The Drift R School will be taken to various other cities shortly with customers likely to try their hand at the sport at this year’s Moto Soul that is set to be held on December 6-7 in Goa.
