Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 is priced at ₹2.79 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Battery-as-a-Service option brings the cost down to ₹1.97 lakh.

Royal Enfield jumping on to the electric vehicle (EV) bandwagon is a huge development for the electric two-wheeler industry in India. The company has launched its first fully electric model in the form of the Flying Flea C6. Known for producing modern classics with a touch of retro and a thumping exhaust note, this is a huge leap forward for Royal Enfield.

This has prompted a reaction from Ultraviolette, one of the leading names in the electric motorcycle segment in India. Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and Co-Founder of Ultraviolette, has congratulated Royal Enfield on joining the electric mobility space. Subramaniam posted a video on his Instagram handle where he is seen riding the Flying Flea C6 alongside his partner who’s onboard the Ultraviolette X47 Crossover.

The video carries a caption that reads, “Welcome to the club, Royal Enfield – a serious step into electric motorcycles with the Flying Flea. Fun, well-balanced, and built with intent.” The caption goes on to congratulate Siddharth Lal, Managing Director, Royal Enfield and his team stating that “this is how the ecosystem moves forward”. This is a very rare moment when an OEM has praised a new competitor on its market arrival.

In the video, the riders can be seen checking out which of the two motorcycles is quicker. The riders engage in a drag race where it seems the X47 Crossover seems to come out with glory although the same can’t be confirmed. In the same video Subramanium also welcomed stronger competition in the EV space, adding that multiple brands pushing different philosophies will only accelerate innovation and make the electric motorcycle future more exciting.
