Fast charging could be a boon if you plan to tour on the F77
Ultraviolette has unveiled its much-anticipated UV Supernova fast-charging network, designed to transform long-distance travel for F77 electric motorcycle owners. The new infrastructure has two charging options, catering to different needs of the riders
Supernova has a 6 kW variant and features dual 3 kW DC fast charging guns. Supernova Plus has a higher 12 kW charging capacity. Both configurations offer a substantial improvement over the standard charger that comes with the F77. Ultraviolette claims the Supernova stations can charge the F77's battery from 20% to 80% in just 40-60 minutes, making extended trips significantly more convenient.
Speaking on the launch, Niraj Rajmohan, Co-Founder & CTO, Ultraviolette said, “The dual-gun configuration in both the 6 kW and 12 kW stations ensures swift and effective charging, aligning with our commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology. We are enthusiastic about the transformative influence Supernova will bring to the F77 riding community (UV SQUADRON), and we are committed to further cementing our role in advancing sustainable mobility.”
With the introduction of the Supernova network, Ultraviolette is addressing a key concern for electric motorcycle riders, “range anxiety”. By significantly reducing charging times, the new infrastructure paves the way for a more practical electric motorcycle ownership experience.
Ultraviolette has initially deployed 10 Supernova stations. These stations are located across Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, focusing on popular motorcycle routes, cafes, and major highways. This ensures riders can easily find a charging station to top up their F77 and continue their journey without waiting for too long.
The Supernova stations utilise the Type 6 connector, adhering to the BIS standard. This eliminates any confusion about connector types for F77. The Supernova network integrates seamlessly with the existing Boost charger offered with the F77, providing riders with a versatile charging ecosystem. This caters to various charging needs, whether riders are at home or on the go and require a quick top-up or a full charge.
The F77 itself comes in three variants. The standard is equipped with a 27 kW motor and a 7.1 kWh battery. It delivers a range of 206 km and a top speed of 140 kmph. The Recon has a performance-oriented 29 kW motor and a 10.5 kWh battery. This gives a range of 307 km and a top speed of 147 kmph. Topping it all is the Space Edition with a 30.2 kW motor and a 10.5 kWh battery. This has a 152 kmph top speed and a 0-60 kmph sprint time of just 2.9s.
