The projects in Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra will expand capacity across alloy wheels, castings and automotive components.
Uno Minda Ltd has approved detailed project reports for four manufacturing projects with a combined estimated investment of ₹1,415 crore. This comes at a time when the automotive components maker prepares to increase production capacity across several product categories and locations. The projects will be developed in Kharkhoda in Haryana, Hosur in Tamil Nadu, Bengaluru and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra.
The company’s board has also approved plans to raise up to ₹600 crore through non-convertible debentures and establish a revolving commercial paper limit of ₹500 crore to meet funding requirements.
"These projects mark another significant step forward in Uno Minda's long-term growth journey. Each of them is anchored in a clear and consistent principle — investing backed by orders or firm demand visibility, staying close to our customers, and building state of art manufacturing capabilities that are scalable, efficient and future-ready," Ravi Mehra, Managing Director, Uno Minda Limited, said in a statement.

At Kharkhoda facility, Uno Minda will establish a two-wheeler alloy wheel manufacturing facility with an annual capacity of 3.3 million units. The project involves additional capital expenditure of about ₹155 crore.
Of this capacity, 2 million units will be shifted from the company’s existing facility at Supa in Maharashtra, while 1.3 million units will be new capacity. Uno Minda currently has an annual capacity of 8 million wheels in its two-wheeler alloy wheel business, with utilisation at around 70%.
The capacity will be commissioned in phases, with standard operations targeted to begin in the fourth quarter of FY2028. The facility will come up on a large land parcel already owned by Uno Minda, alongside its existing and under-construction plants. The company expects this location to create infrastructure synergies.
Uno Minda has also approved a ₹510 crore greenfield casting facility at Hosur. The plant will expand the company’s Casting Division under its Lighting, Powertrain and Seating business.
The facility will produce components for engine, EV and powertrain applications, as well as structural and general applications. It will also manufacture high-pressure die-casting two-wheeler alloy wheels.
The land for the project has already been acquired. Uno Minda plans to consolidate and relocate its existing Hosur casting operations to the new facility by the first quarter of FY2029.
The existing facility has annual casting capacity of 13,255 tonnes and is operating at full utilisation. The new plant will add 20,557 tonnes per annum, taking potential total capacity to around 33,812 tonnes once fully operational. The additional capacity is planned to be introduced in phases, with standard operations expected to start in Q4 FY2028.
Uno Minda subsidiary Uno Minda Kyoraku Ltd will invest about ₹80 crore to expand its Bengaluru manufacturing facility.
The plant currently has annual capacity of 3.28 million units and operates at 91.9% utilisation. The expansion will add 1.38 million units, taking potential annual capacity to around 4.66 million units. The additional capacity is targeted to become operational in Q1 FY2028.
The fourth project involves TGSIN, a subsidiary of Toyoda Gosei Uno Minda India Pvt Ltd, an associate of Uno Minda. The facility will manufacture automotive products including interior and exterior components, airbags, hoses and body sealing parts.
TGSIN currently has annual capacity of 450,000 units, with utilisation of around 90%. The project will add another 150,000 units, taking potential capacity to 600,000 units per annum. The expansion will be implemented in phases, with standard operations targeted for Q4 FY2029.
According to Uno Minda, the four projects are primarily being undertaken to support business growth and meet customer demand.
The investment is likely to increase manufacturing capacity across multiple product lines, including components linked to electric vehicles, while also expanding the company’s production footprint in key automotive manufacturing hubs.
