April 2024 is set to see the introduction of a few new SUVs and the return of a coveted sedan.
March saw a slew of new cars being introduced and launched in the Indian market. April is going to be no different as many OEMs are set to launch new or updated models in India. This month, expect new models in the SUV and sedan segments primarily. Let’s take a look at what’s in store for April 2024.
Launch: April 3, 2024
Expected Price: ₹7.6 - 13 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
Essentially a badge-engineered version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, the Toyota Taisor will be the latest subcompact SUV for the Japanese marque. It will have a slightly differentiated design, as is the case with other badge-engineered models in the Maruti Suzuki-Toyota line-up. Expect the Taisor to share its powertrain options and features with the Fronx. Read more about it here.

Expected Price: ₹55 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
Skoda India will relaunch the Superb in India after a hiatus of around a year. The Superb was discontinued last year with the advent of the BS6 Phase II norms in India. While Skoda has revealed the fourth-gen Superb globally, India will only get the facelifted third-gen model as of now, with the latest generation coming in later. Skoda India will relaunch the Superb in the fully loaded L&K trim and will continue with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. Read more about it here.

Expected Price: ₹16 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
Force is finally launching the much-awaited 5-door version of its rugged Gurkha SUV. The off-roader will rival the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door and the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. The Gurkha 5-door has been spotted testing on multiple occasions and it will get a slightly different design than the outgoing Gurkha. Under the hood, it is likely to get the same 2.6-litre diesel engine but with a higher state of tune. Know more about it here.

Expected Price: ₹12 - 18 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
Showcased at Volkswagen’s latest Annual Brand Conference, the Taigun is set to get new GT variants. The new variants will receive the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine in the GT trim line. While the GT Line will only get the above-mentioned engine with the manual and automatic gearboxes, the GT Plus will get the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines with both manual and automatic gearbox options. Showcased twice since Auto Expo 2023, the sportier iteration of the Altroz is expected to launch later this month. Tata Motors is expected to offer the Altroz 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine from Nexon, which gives it a power bump of 10 bhp. The Altroz currently gets a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine which develops 108 bhp, and the Racer variant is expected to develop 118 bhp. It will also have some cosmetic enhancements such as dual-tone paint with twin racing stripes, a different design for the alloy wheels and an updated features list that could include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
