BYD Auto India is all set to launch the updated Atto 3 in India on July 10, 2024. Ahead of that, BYD has teased the upcoming electric SUV in India. While details remain scant, the Atto 3 is likely to get the new Cosmos Black colour option in India, a bigger touchscreen and new interior themes.
The Atto 3 recently received ARAI homologation, which will help BYD sell more than 2,500 units in India. This will also allow BYD to fully assemble the Atto 3 in India and import it as a completely knocked down (CKD) unit instead of a semi-knocked down (SKD) unit, helping bring the costs down.
Along with the new Cosmos Black paint, the Atto 3 will also get blacked-out trim. The chrome window surrounds and the textured panel on the C-pillar have now been blacked out. Instead of the ‘Build Your Dreams’ lettering on the tailgate, the Atto 3 will get the ‘BYD’ lettering. It is also likely to get a 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen system that will replace the current 12.8-inch unit. Additionally, it is also likely to get a new Blue and Black cabin theme along with the existing Blue and Beige theme.
The Atto 3 is also likely to get an entry-level variant. It is expected to get the same 60.48 kWh battery but with lesser range and power. Currently, the Atto 3 gets a dual-motor setup with 201 bhp and 310 Nm and a claimed range of 521 km.
The prices of the Atto 3 could also be reduced. At present, it is priced at ₹33.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and rivals the MG ZS EV and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.
