With the unveiling of the new Cayenne GTS, Porsche has completed the line-up of the comprehensively revised 2023 Cayenne.
The Porsche Cayenne GTS has been unveiled to the European market in all its glory. Building on the comprehensive updates that Porsche had introduced with the 2024 Cayenne range, the new Cayenne GTS model now gets a more powerful engine, a subtly revised exterior design, and a feature-rich interior.
Powering the 2024 Porsche Cayenne is the same 4.0-litre biturbo V8 engine, which has been thoroughly revised to produce 39.45 bhp and 40 Nm more than before, at 493.16 bhp and 660 Nm. It comes paired with the same 8-speed Tiptronic S transmission, which also has been revised for shorter response and shift times in Sport and Sport Plus modes.
Porsche claims that the new 2024 Cayenne GTS can now accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 4.4 seconds, and reach its electronically limited top speed of 275 kmph.
Porsche has stated that the updates introduced with the 2024 Cayenne GTS have been made to improve its on-road performance As part of that strategy, the performance SUV will be available with Porsche’s adaptive air suspension as standard, with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus). The GTS-specific chassis has also been lowered by 10-millimetre, along with that, the chassis components and control systems, including Porsche Traction Management (PTM) and the optional Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), have been optimised for better on-road performance.
Additionally, to ensure performance delivery is stable at all times, Porsche has also introduced a new independent water cooling unit to the transfer box for the all-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management (PTM) feature. This tech is adopted from the Turbo GT models, and it helps stabilise the load capacity, especially when track driving or navigating mountain roads.
The exterior of the Porsche Cayenne GTS is differentiated by a distinctly different front fascia which is adorned with bigger cooling air intakes, dark-tinted headlights and tail lights, and red brake calipers. Additionally, black ‘GTS’ lettering, side skirts, front inlays, side window trims in High-Gloss black available with the Sport Design package as standard, and 21-inch RS Spyder-design wheels in anthracite grey finish are some of the other key exterior highlights of the 2023 Cayenne GTS.
The dashboard of the 2024 Porsche Cayenne GTS continues to feature the new ‘Porsche Driver Experience’ with a curved digital instrument cluster as standard. A fixed panoramic sunroof, a Bose surround system, and a heated GT sports steering wheel are some of the other exclusive features available as standard with the new Cayenne. Porsche also provides the Cayenne GTS with GTS-specific interior packages in Carmine Red or Slate Grey, which will eventually be available with the SUV.
Currently, the Porsche Cayenne is available in India with two body styles – Coupe and SUV – priced at ₹1.35 crore and ₹1.41 crore, respectively. Bookings for the new 2024 Porsche Cayenne GTS have already commenced in Europe, and deliveries will begin from summer 2024 onwards. In India, the Cayenne GTS is expected to launch by the end of this year, and given the update it gains it can very well be priced around the ₹2 crore mark.
